YYGS Residential offers a rare opportunity for likeminded students from around the world to meet at Yale’s historic campus. Students spend two weeks living in college dormitories, eating at Yale dining halls, and learning in an environment that encourages student collaboration and diverse, global perspectives.
We are excited to announce that Summer 2026 YYGS will be hosted at Benjamin Franklin College and Pauli Murray College, two of Yale’s newest residential colleges.
Curriculum
The residential curriculum forms the foundation of each participant’s experience outside of the classroom. Through shared traditions and signature events, students actively embody the theme of living in difference. These experiences are designed to cultivate meaningful connections, celebrate diverse perspectives, and encourage authentic self-expression, strengthening the vibrant sense of community that defines YYGS.
| Family Time | Participants are placed into small “family” groups led by a Residential Fellow. Your family becomes your home away from home while on campus. |
| Speaker Series | A TED Talk style event in which participants present creative ideas, personal experiences, and innovative solutions. The event encourages meaningful conversations and empowers participants to inspire their peers through thoughtful and engaging presentations. |
| Talent Show | A night where participants step outside of the classroom and share their creativity, culture, and personality with the YYGS community. |
| Last Night Party | The celebratory conclusion that marks the end of an intense and unforgettable session. After two weeks of lectures, seminars, family meetings, and late-night conversations, it’s a chance for everyone to come together one final time as a community. |
| Admissions Panel (Optional) | Hosted by Yale Admissions, an informative session designed to give participants an in-depth understanding of the college application process. |
| Auditions (Optional) | Auditions are held for the Speaker Series and Talent Show events. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their skills in a supportive and low-pressure environment. |
