Health Insurance

YYGS requires that all participants be covered by health insurance during the program, including during travel to and from the program.

Once students are offered admission to YYGS, they accept or decline that offer. For students who accept, they then complete registration forms, including an Insurance form where they will be asked to upload a copy of a valid health insurance card (front and back), or to enter contact information to request that YYGS purchase this for them. Any insurance purchased by YYGS is valid only for the duration of the YYGS program (e.g., 2 weeks in the summer), and begins once a student arrives on campus and ends when they depart campus.

YYGS strives to provide coverage at no additional cost to all participants (both domestic and international) who would otherwise not have health insurance during the program.

Additional Tuition/Travel Insurance

Students and families are encouraged to research options for purchasing additional insurance that might cover cancelation or change in travel plans, including flight and tuition insurance and/or “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) travel insurance, so they could recover their money if they ultimately decide not to attend the program.
