YYGS has given me a myriad of different perspectives from passionate peers around the globe and drastically changed my mindset on the issues we face today. I started to view this “dark veil” of the pandemic not as a hindrance but as an opportunity for change, a needed momentum for a long-awaited movement.
Since graduating from YYGS, I have made progress in uniting my school community through the power of clubs and as a fight against a common enemy. During the program, I realized the true power that communities held and used this insight in improving the lives of those around me.
I started organizing the Club Activities Department in my school’s Student Council, essentially becoming the forefront of students’ voices in the form of clubs. My new role allowed me to implement changes in how school communities function. In the span of three months of work, I aided the founding of 15 clubs, with a total of 384 members indulging in creative and academic activities. These clubs range from volleyball teams to MUN organizations.
