I am constantly surprised to see the impact that YYGS continues to have on my life, even months later. Shu Yi’s incredible opening keynote on the “Secret to Solving Global Challenges” continues to be one of my favorite lectures, and the seminars on “Glamourising Suffering” and the representation of minorities in the media have made me constantly think about our exposure to media, its effects and question things such as how much intent matters if the outcome was good.
During YYGS, I discovered how much I enjoyed connecting with different people and learning about their backgrounds and experiences, which made me realize how much I miss traveling and all the stories or memories created when exploring a new place. This along with my experience on the media team and interest in photography has led to me becoming an ambassador for a student run online magazine and working as an editor at my schools magazine before starting my own blog where I hope to share stories from various places I’ve visited, though I am currently focusing on local explorations and historical monuments or events.
