ASE/BBS 2020

“YYGS not only provided me with a unique opportunity to explore the subject of biology outside of the classroom, but also helped cement my love for the subject further. The extremely interesting and informative lectures sparked my interest in areas I had never previously considered, including neuroscience and human physiology. Moreover, the combination of the ASE and BBS program allowed for an interdisciplinary approach, especially within the lectures on sustainable energy, which seamlessly combined the two areas in a way I had never experienced before.”

I recently completed an internship at Greenpeace India. Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that advocates for a non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and to force the solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future. Their goal is to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity.

I was part of the core team of interns that presided over and managed the overall experience for every other intern and volunteer in the program. Moreover, I was also one of the leaders of the East and Northeast zone encompassing participants from West Bengal and the 7 sister states of Northeast India. In the beginning, I helped conduct workshops to initiate the incoming interns and volunteers, briefing them about the work being done at Greenpeace, and more importantly, the campaigns they would be involved in, the Circle of Solidarity campaign and the Green Recommendations.
