“YYGS Connect helped me realize that you can make anything work, and you can have an unforgettable time as long as you are willing to put in the effort and have the right mindset. I learned how to create good times and memories amid a pandemic and this was achieved through Family Time–the most memorable part of the program for me. I got to bond with people from different countries and walks of life, and I learned to appreciate and celebrate the differences in our diversity.”

Looking back at my high school journey, in particular my A-Level journey, I realized that it was not an easy journey because most of the work had to be done by the individual and at times with little or no guidance at all. As a result, my friend Nyasha Bhuza (who is a YYAS Alumni 2020) and I are working on starting a non-profit project which will be aimed at making life easier for the arts students at A-Level (Cambridge). We will be reviewing essays and giving tips and advice on how to answer essays, tutoring and helping students understand the arts better. This will make their A-Level journey more bearable, interesting and even fun.
