“My favorite lecture was the Trolley Problem by Professor Shelly Kagan, where he had talked about moral principles behind making the right decision. As an Economics enthusiast, I was intrigued even how proper decision-making can also involve making significant sacrifices in life: a core concept of Economics.”

Professor Kagan’s lecture made me a better decision-maker, enhancing my understanding of Economics. So, inspired by my YYGS days, I broke out of my comfort zone and explored the Bangladesh Economics Olympiad. Surprisingly yet confidently, I overcame every qualifying round and got selected to represent Bangladesh’s national team in the International Economics Olympiad 2021 in Latvia. My regarnered oratory skills and experience from YYGS helped me foster connections with several international students. My multiculturalist interest allowed me to learn about the culture, various social issues. In one of the competitions, I worked on a sustainable economic model for Electronic Cars and my team. At the end of the olympiad, I was awarded a bronze medal among 250+ international participants from 44 countries worldwide. This medal is not just for me or my country; this medal is also for my YYGS community, which fostered such interpersonal growth. Inspired by this success, I aim to work towards sustainable Economic Growth for Bangladesh and every other country in the world in the future.
