Bio

Angel was born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Illinois, and is a proud Mexican-American. They hold a B.A in Intercultural Studies, with a focus on Latin American studies from Elmhurst University, and a M.Ed focused on Social Justice and Equity Issues from Oakland University. Angel has spent 8 years working in higher education, particularly in residential education. Prior to joining the YYGS Team, Angel worked at the Rhode Island School of Design, where they helped implement a residential curriculum for First Year and Upper Class students. In their spare time they can be found finding new ways to keep their cat away their 20+ house plants.
