“Analyzing the causes and effects of complex global situations with people who have different perspectives and backgrounds from me allowed me to understand why international relations are complicated and vital. YYGS allowed me to have a truly global experience and changed how I view global crisis and conflict.”
I created a club at my school named Feed Gainesville, which seeks to help local students and their families with food insecurities. We have periodic food drives throughout the city and have collected 570 pounds of donation. We partner with a local nonprofit called Food4kids, which collects and distributes food to local families through schools, or directly to families. As a club we donate our collected items to them and volunteer with them regularly at their warehouse to help sort and package donations.
