Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) has opened its application for next year’s program, offering twelve academic sessions ranging from the humanities to the biological sciences. During the two-week program, participants will experience life as a university student by attending lectures and seminars, meeting peers from around the world, and accessing opportunities across Yale - ranging from admissions panels to conversations with Yale professors.
The high school enrichment program will offer residential and online sessions during June and July 2022.
“YYGS hopes to host both residential and online sessions next year, and we are working closely with our colleagues across Yale to evaluate options. Our first priority is the safety of students and staff, and if it is not possible to host residential sessions, we will switch those sessions to online offerings. We are also committed to making sure that our program is globally diverse, whether we host YYGS online or on-campus.” -Elena Gosalvez Blanco, Director, Yale Young Global Scholars
YYGS is one of the most globally diverse, accessible pre-college programs in the world. The program serves over 2,000 students from 150+ countries and distributes over $3 million in need-based financial aid equally to domestic and international students.
“YYGS Connect gave an insight and taste of college life; it was the first time I had college level lectures, discussions, met like-minded peers and had a debate on STEM issues. It was the first time my questions were fully answered, and it was the first time in which I realized the true joy and love of learning, that this can be the element that drives one’s life.” -Serin, YYGS Online 2021, Cambodia
Whether online or residential, YYGS will offer a range of academic sessions for students to choose from, specializing in cutting-edge topics within the STEM, social science, cross-disciplinary, and humanities disciplines.
Interested students can apply early to receive a discounted application fee. If the fee poses a financial burden, students can submit a fee waiver to reduce the application fee to $0 USD. For more information, visit the How to Apply page: https://globalscholars.yale.edu/how-to-apply.
