ASE 2019

“Every seminar, lecture or breakout session was extremely enjoyable because of the variety of mentors and the ability to dip your toes into different fields of engineering. This aspect really helped me focus on the fields in engineering I most enjoyed while being in a nurturing learning environment with my helpful peers.”

My most recent initiative is a combination between global relations and engineering (more having to do with logistics, project management and systems engineering). This initiative is the first student-led Model United Nations Conference Jamaica has seen which we have named JAMUN. This project is a product of myself and my classmate Paloma LaValley which is set to take place on April 3rd and 4th in Kingston, Jamaica. We knew that the concept was necessary for Jamaica to help organise the country better politically, socially and economically and give Jamaican children a chance to shape their society.

My part is in the logistics of the event; I have also had a big part in the making of our website and similar tasks. During the conference, we plan to discuss a range of topics: Economy, Human Rights, Sustainability etc. Our goal is for it to  essentially be an enrichment program for Jamaican teens and to build awareness of global issues, making it easier for us to tackle these problems in the near future.
