Accustomed to my small and familiar classroom for years, at YYGS I was thrown out of my comfort zone. Differently from what was idealized for me, whenever I was determined to contribute in some way to the discussions or give my opinion on a topic, my hands trembled as I unmuted the microphone: will they think I’m stupid by what I say?
One day, during our family times, I decided to share this feeling with my colleagues. I told them how difficult it was to get out of this comfort zone, how trying to share my ideas in a language that is not my own always diminished me, making me feel that my comments were too slow and worthless. I will never forget how each of them legitimized my feelings in the most sincere way.
