YYGS allowed me to develop an academic relationship with people worldwide and grow within an educational space where I contributed and discussed topics of my interest. It has allowed me to build and refine my critical thinking, communication, resilience, and other skills. Since the program, my interest in making a positive impact around me and my country has grown. I learned a lot about teamwork and how a good team performs its best when there is respect for everyone’s culture, attitudes, thoughts, and relationships.

After YYGS, one of my most significant accomplishments was launching a University Prep website. Thanks to YYGS, I rediscovered my uniqueness and ability to lead others and guide them towards success to the best of my ability. This experience pushed me to create this website and help those younger than me with college applications. Throughout this year, I plan to do some general feedback and include a testimonial section of different students who have used my website to share their mindsets and goals that could influence others. Besides my website, I’m also involved in volunteer work. For instance, I created a donating club in my neighborhood where I collect necessities, like food, masks, and alcohol, every two weeks to distribute them in a van to different hospitality centers for people who can’t afford them. From experience, it is gratifying to see that such a small detail can change a family’s life completely. As someone who is privileged enough to have these opportunities and resources, I’m glad I can help others, and I’m looking forward to this Christmas Eve donation this year!
