“[YYGS] offered me the chance to dive deeply into interesting topics with dedicated learners from around the world. It also challenged me to think critically about my own literary work. I am currently writing a collection of short stories and was struggling with a difficult section of the book at the same time as my YYGS session. I eventually used what I learned from the seminar to complete the first of three stories.”

In the months since YYGS ended, I have made significant progress on the novel that I’ve been writing since June. I had initially intended for the work to be 150-200 manuscript pages. It has since ballooned to 325 pages– and I’m only two-thirds of the way through.

The book consists of three intertwined short stories set in Montana during the decline of the frontier age of the American West. Each concerns a lost love and a touch of the supernatural. I hope to have the book done by April and will publish it myself.
