“YYGS taught me that we are life long learners and we are fueled by curiosity and discovery, and I believe that I will be able to use my experience to positively impact the world.”

My love for science did not just stop at the Frontiers of Science and Technology session, furthermore it fueled my curiosity of wanting to  know more. I have always wanted to use science to further development in the world and this led me to apply for the New York Academy of Science Junior Academy:  a virtual program with mentors, research, and innovation challenges in science, technology, engineering, and math, which I was accepted.

The Junior Academy is an elite group of problem solvers made up of talented students, STEM experts, and companies around the world dedicated to designing innovative solutions to global challenges. Each year, they invite students ages 13–18 to join The Junior Academy. The Junior Academy members gain lifelong access to exclusive educational opportunities and a remarkable global STEM network through Launchpad, a virtual collaboration platform. Students work to develop solutions to real-world problems that can have an immediate impact. Some of the challenges the program tackles are: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene,  Sustainability and Climate Change.  I’m delighted that I got another chance to further my  research, innovation, and collaboration skills.
