“When I went to my first family time session, the atmosphere fascinated me at once. Everything was steeped with the spirit of yet unexplored, interesting discussions. Those students, their knowledge and worldviews, inspired me to further explore my passion and aspire to develop crucial skills, particularly problem-solving.”

Delegating my country in the Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition event followed by Pre-COP26 in Milan, Italy, where I had the honor and privilege to meet and work with 350+ delegates from 190 countries was a memorable event in my life after YYGS. This event was led by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Prime Ministers of Italy Mario Draghi and the UK Boris Johnson, COP26 President Alok Sharma, young activists Greta Thunberg and Vanessa Nakate as well as ministers representing over 40 countries. I was part of the Sustainable Recovery workstream where I specifically focused on climate education and the climate-conscious society. We put forward ideas and concrete proposals on some of the most pressing issues on the climate agenda. The first two days were dedicated to working in groups, while the last day featured discussions between young delegates, activists, and the ministers. We were working together to strengthen climate ambition, ensure recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and build a more climate-conscious society. Preparing a proposal with brilliant, diverse minds towards COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland, helped me to gain enormous experience as I did in YYGS. As expected, YYGS played a huge role in motivating me to continue believing in myself and in following my passion.
