“YYGS was for me a short yet great period of personal growth, insights, and reflections. I can say that there I decided to change my prospective majors and I got to know passionate people from all over the world.”
My YYGS section was in the middle of my senior year (South Hemisphere calendar). After the program, I dedicated myself to three activities. The first is my college application to the US and Brazil. Moreover, I’m currently responsible for three excellent applicants who will be sending in their early applications to YYGS. Finally, I’m continuing to work for a local political campaign, where my participation in YYGS added another complex layer. After I got into contact with students from all over the world and I observed their local problems and initiatives, I realized that any proposed solution that we brought to Brazil would be incomplete without an international approach. Therefore, after extensive meetings, we agreed to base our projects, especially those related to security. We are currently developing exchange programs for team members to the USA, Germany, and India and are looking for inspiration and new ideas to solve our local problems from a global approach.
