“The seminars and lectures taught me to think critically and effectively approach a philosophical dialogue. I particularly enjoyed Professor Shelly Kagan’s lecture on the trolly problem. His commendable professional history and eagerness to address morally complex issues really made for an intriguing lecture that encouraged me to think critically and from different perspectives.”

I started a branch of the United Nations Foundation “Girl Up” at my school. Girl Up is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting the United Nations with programs that support adolescent girls in underserved communities worldwide. Girl Up enables girls to empower other girls globally to advance their progress in health, safety, education and leadership in their communities.

As a woman who wants to promote women’ status and opportunity, I knew I had to join Girl Up. I started the organization at my school, where I serve as the president and am currently the president for all clubs and Girl Up initiatives in the state of Arizona. I have been able to help girls get bikes to attend schools, raise money for shelters for victims of domestic violence, and enable girls to improve in education and health to increase their opportunity in the world. I work with awesome club members also dedicated to making the world a better place by giving women their place.

By leading the state of Arizona, I collaborate with a hardworking team of girls with drive and genuine desire to help women everywhere. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to use the resources I am blessed with to help girls in every corner of the Earth become the incredible women they can be.
