“I felt empowered [by YYGS] to promote social change in the world through theater and advocate for intersectionality because there is nothing more powerful than comprehending who we are and embracing our identities.”
I was selected to be the first young person in Brazil to be a chapter founder and leader of a non-profit organization called the State of Youth. The State of Youth aims to empower the youth community by building a non-political, non-religious digital “state” that transcends borders. State of Youth increases awareness, builds advocacy, and creates action against the most pressing issues the world faces today (which are outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals). A unique platform for youth by youth, this nonprofit aims to create real change and impact, driven by youth across the world.
