Walking away from the program was overwhelming in many ways. I felt stuffed with invaluable advice, resources, support, and most importantly with a community. A group of peers who I knew would be there as we ventured into the next stages of life. Whether that meant finding post secondary education or looking for more opportunities to better ourselves. I believe we all learned how to connect.
Since the end of the program I felt ready to take on my next challenge. This would come in the form of the Indian Raga Dance Fellowship. The Raga Fellowship handpicks artists to come together, collaborate, and professionally produce videos to be released on the flagship IndianRaga channel.
I was a Fellow for this great opportunity and collaborated with a bharatanatyam dancer from Geneva, Switzerland in order to create a brilliant piece on the connection of the seasons through nature. It was a magical process with lots coordination required since I was leading our project.
Over a four month process, we submitted a draft video and finally a completed professional video of our piece. Entitled “Ritu Sanyog (Synergy of the Seasons),” our piece represented both the journey of the creation process and the final outcome. The collaboration was a great time to bring together artists that were ready to create for an eager audience and delve deeper into their artistry. It was an honour to be able to offer my dance as apart of this project.
