Thank you for your interest in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program for Outstanding High School Students!

We received an overwhelming response to both programs and are pleased to announce our 2013 statistics:

  • Over 1,200 applications were received for the Yale Young Global Scholars Program
  • 23% of applicants were admitted
  • 31 students received deferred admission from 2012*
  • Admitted students represent 46 countries; 40% of admitted students are international
  • Admitted students represent 41 U.S. states plus Puerto Rico
  • The median total SAT score was 2200; median PSAT scores (Verbal/Writing/Math) were 70/68/68

Politics, Law, and Economics (PLE)
July 13 – 26, 2013

Studies in Grand Strategy (GS)
August 3 – 16, 2013

During the two intensive weeks, students will:

  • Learn from leading authorities in politics and international affairs
  • Read primary source materials, articles, and books on a wide variety of subjects
  • Participate in lively team exercises and simulations
  • Gain invaluable instruction in university-level writing
  • Make friends from all around the world
  • And much more…

As an official Yale University program that is administered by University officials, you can expect a first-rate summer experience studying in beautiful campus lecture halls and classrooms, living in our famed residential colleges, eating in our award-winning dining halls, engaging with world renowned professors, and interacting with extraordinary visiting practitioners.
