Tuition

Tuition for each session of the 2018 Yale Young Global Scholars Program is $6,000 USD, which includes instruction, housing on one of Yale’s historic residential colleges in New Haven or a hotel conveniently located near the Yale Center Beijing in China, three meals per day, and optional health insurance. TRAVEL COSTS ARE NOT INCLUDED in program tuition.

Tuition payment structure: A non-refundable deposit of $2,800 USD, payable online, is due two weeks after the decision release. The remaining tuition balance of $3,200 USD is due in May. Processing fees are not included.

How to pay: Tuition may be paid by credit or debit card through the payment gateway, accessible from the applicant’s Application Status page. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The payment gateway will also accept eChecks (preferred method for U.S. participants).

We can also accept wire or bank transfers IF the above options do not work for you. If you need to send a wire or bank transfer, please refer to these wire instructions. After you complete the transfer, you MUST email the receipt to global.scholars@yale.edu with subject line “Wire transfer receipt attached (ref#{{ref}})”. It is imperative that we keep track of all applicants who pay via wire transfer so our business office can associate the fee payment with the correct application.

Commuter option: If you reside within commuting distance of New Haven, you may participate in YYGS as a day (commuter) student. You can indicate this preference on the “Additional Information” portion of the online application. Tuition for a day student is $5,000 USD.
