Laura Kaub is Program Manager of Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS). She brings more than 10 years of experience in supporting international and particularly African students as they apply for admission and financial aid for tertiary education in the United States and around the world. A graduate of Penn State University and Clark University, Laura worked at Barnard College as an international admissions officer before joining African Leadership Academy (ALA) in 2009 as their inaugural director of university guidance. In July 2012, continuing her efforts to support young African leaders as they seek access to higher education, Laura took on a new role within the Academy, managing a university scholarship program for high-achieving, low-income students from sub-Saharan Africa. Funded by a grant from The MasterCard Foundation, that initiative particularly targets students with the potential to be agents of positive change on the continent. In her role as Manager of YYAS, Laura will help the program expand its effort to bring university guidance services to African students who lack them.
